This is Billy Concarney here with a recap from last nights semi final games at the Fish Bowl.

Two games with four teams that had faced off during the regular season and all the games were close.

Will that be the case tonight? 

The answer in short is…duh duh duh duuuuuuuhhhhhhh…

NOPE!

Game one saw the Slayers and the Chill battle it out. The first period was close. 1-1 and Jason Boudreau was in his usual play off form making some big time stops. 

But yea, that’s about where it ends as far as good news for the Chill. The second saw a new version of Mark “The Shark” Butyn as he tore the Chill to shreds…coupled with Ted “I’m Keen” McGeen, these guys unleashed a fury and the Chill could not cool them down. I ain’t getting into every goal but lest just say Butyn is getting a Timmy’s card for his 5 goal and 5 helper performance. Way to go Mark! Slayers win this one 13-4 

Game two saw the Fire stepping in to face the Hackers. Well, the game started with a tale of two Aaron’s and Aaron “Shaggy” Brown fed AJ “Tom Sellick wants his moustache back” Brown to start the ball rolling and get a quick 1 goal lead.

It was all Hacks and whacks from there. The Hackers dominated and were rewarded with. 10-2 win. Kudos to Craig Burgoyne who quietly back stopped for the win turning aside 37 of 39 shots. Great game, and even though Brendan Hanrahan gave up 10, he still had a usual Brendan night with some solid keeping. In the end, the Hackers doused the Fire and went to the big dance with a 10-2 win.

So that’s where we are folks.

The finals will be played on Dec 15th at the Fishbowl with a 7:30 ball drop.

This should be a dandy of a game as these two teams finished 1 and 2 during the regular season and it might just come down to who can stop the last shot…

Only time will tell.
