t was a somehow fitting end to the tough-luck Keane Fire's season Thursday night. Playing the Sunnydale Slayers for third place and pride, the Fire
lost in a shootout after playing to a tie in
regulation. The Fire can thank all-star
defenseman Barrie Harvey for even
making it to the shootout. Harvey tied
the game at 15 with 10 seconds left in the contest by
picking the top corner from the benches.
Playing without star forward Steve Barriault, who was
sidelined with the chicken pox, the Keane Fire put up a
valiant battle against the top seeded LAN Hackers in
the league's first semi-final but finally succumbed 12-11
in the dying seconds.
The league announced this season's all-star selections
Thursday and the three Keane Fire members who have
been invited are Kevin Haddad, Rob Sasco and Barrie
Harvey.
