Howza all doing anyway?
First of all let’s look at last nights results…just quickly…then on to the juicy stuff!
Slayers 8 - Chill 8
This was a great game and the Slayers came out of the gate quick. They had a 5-2 lead after the first. But the second was a different story and the Chill scored 4 unanswered goals to take a 6-5 lead into the 3rd. The Slayers grabbed two goals to start the 3rd and kept that one goal lead until Brett Dempsey grabbed a greedy goal without any helpers to even it up. The Chill took a later game lead but the relentless Slayers fought back and tied it up and there she be…even Stephens…whoever Stephen is.
Fire 10 - Hackers 3
Whoa Nelly…Anil had to be pleased with the chemistry his new team showed in this one. They dominated from the get go and new comer Max Mailhot earned the crowds approval with a hat trick and a helper. Surely Anil was going to take these guys to the bank! I mean, how could he not right? The Hackers are no slouch and this was a great dominant win…or was it
Sabres 12 - Lynx 3
Ok, so talk about a morale breaker. The new look Sabres led by Andrew O’Keefe straight off the heals of his trade from the Chill, took it to the Lynx. Like I mean took it to them. O’Keefe grabbed a hat trick and two helpers as he lifter the Sabres to victory…all the while yelling “Hey Fitz…how ya like me now baby!” Worthwhile to note stand in Peter Regimbald faced a whopping 64 shots in this one. There was also a bit of dissent on the bench as Ryan Dunford was heard telling Strum to pick it up because he was starting to get heavy. We shall see how lol that plays out in the weeks ahead.
So now let’s get down to that juicy part I was talking about.
Today the league received application to approve a trade between the Fire and the Lynx. It appears that Anil’s chemistry was not at all what we thought is was…so he shipped arguably his top difference maker in tonight’s game Max Mailhot along with speedster Shannon Thoms off to the Lynx for journeyman Jordan Castilloux and another fast as fast can be player TJ Norris. We will see how this move affects ticket sales at the fish bowl. My guess is it won’t because well…we don’t sell any tickets to our games. This marks the second time Max and his pets have been uprooted and shipped out in as many weeks. Best of luck to you all in your new homes!
Last thing, this weeks HFHL player of the week honours goes to Zach Payne who kept the Lynx to 3 goals. Way to go Zach!!
Well that’s all you’re getting from this cat today.
This is Billy Concarney saying so long and remember…keep your eyes peeled for two things this Saturday Hallows Eve. The first is look out for the little ones who are out trying to grab some goodies…the second is watch out for Liam MacLeod dressed up as a defenceman! HA! Yea I know…that’s wrong..but digs go both ways. Love you Bro!
Stay well everyone and see you next week!
